Jan’s interest in massage first started whilst travelling in Asia in the late 80's. On her return to England she studied massage with The London College of Massage, which at that point offered one of the most comprehensive massage courses in England. On completion of the course Jan was asked to stay on and work as a practitioner for the college. At this time she also set up her own private practice in London, working with both private individuals and large international companies, massaging their staff. These included AOL, Radio Times and Redwood Publishing amongst others.

Over the past 25 years Jan has continued to study and learn new skills, keeping ahead of changes happening within the industry, these include advanced techniques for Pregnancy Massage, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, Hot Stone Massage and Trigger Point Therapy. She also regularly attends courses and workshops focusing on different aspects of treatment such as RSI or using massage to help people who are suffering with CFS or ME.

She is one of only a handful of therapists to have traveled to the USA to study with John Barnes the pioneer of Myofascial Release to an advanced level.

She recently spent the winter in India studying Ayurvedic massage and how it benefits everyone. She will return later this year to continue her studies and to also work in an animal shelter.

Jan currently practices from The Drive in Hove. She is a member of the professional massage association Embody and the CThA
